1.Intro

Puzzle Master is a Canadian distributor of a wide range of solving puzzles, brain teasers, jigsaws, puzzle rings, tricks locks, boomerangs, chess and more. The company was founded because owner Allan Stein’s interest in collecting wire puzzles. Allan collected these puzzles for several years before he thought of making them his own. Once he found he could successfully make puzzles he thought “why don’t I try to sell some of the puzzles at craft shows to see if anyone else liked them as much as much as I do”. At the craft fair, he found that not only did people like jigsaws, they like them. These craft displays are Puzzle Master’s first way of selling these puzzles.

After selling at craft shows for a few years, Alan decided to try selling in some shopping centres in Saskatoon. He rented a temporary location 2 weeks before Christmas and was amazed at how quickly the puzzles sold. He then ran out of puzzles in 7 days. It was at that point that he realised his business was viable. To this day, we still have many businesses selling in temporary locations a few weeks before Christmas.

In the beginning, Allan made traditional puzzles invented hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago. Now, Allan is taking these traditional designs and adding his own unique twist to them.
