When we started this journey, our friends wondered if we were crazy to put together a dream team in Silicon Valley to build the perfect presbyopic glasses. With our collective expertise and resources, we estimated that it would take six months of development to build these glasses, but it actually took over 30 months. The challenge was to make our glasses comfortable to wear. Not for 90%, but for 100% of all users. In developing the ThinOptics presbyopic glasses, we tested hundreds of prototypes on thousands of noses. Because ThinOptics presbyopes have to work just like your phone, every time you use them.

Once we had the right presbyopes, we developed what would become the Universal Pod – a slim, durable case that elegantly protects your reader while fitting effortlessly on the back of your smartphone (or any hard, flat surface).
