In Mignon’s eyes, hints of New Orleans architecture, Louisiana wildlife and everyday objects have been transformed into iconic jewellery. Since 1969, she has effortlessly incorporated innovation, taste and craftsmanship into designs that have endured.
Design
Each Mignon Faget piece is designed in New Orleans’ historic Magazine Street. Trained in fine art, Mignon Faget’s designs are based on natural and architectural concepts that come to life in timeless sculptural forms. Faget’s approach to design involves deconstructing and then reconstructing the observed form, resulting in small sculptures that synthesize concept, material and function.
Inspiration
The city of New Orleans, with its rich cultural depth and diversity, history and heritage, as well as its natural and architectural splendour, was a major source of inspiration for the collection.
The process
Skilled craftsmen use dewax casting as well as the latest computer-aided processes, such as 3D printing, to create 2,000 vibrant jewellery designs. From the initial sketches, models are created which become the basis for the moulds used to produce the finished designs. Pearls are strung and knotted on necklaces, rings are painted with copper green and earrings are soldered and polished. Each piece of jewellery is entirely handmade, with an emphasis on unwavering attention to detail and quality.

I was so excited when I saw that my trip to New Orleans included Nordstrom Rack.
The last time I set foot in Nordstrom Rack was 3 years ago in Hawaii.
You can’t go wrong shopping at Nordstrom Rack. This location has 2 floors. I believe the women’s clothing is on the ground floor and the men’s clothing and shoes are on the first floor. I found items that I had been checking out online and was glad I didn’t have to pay shipping.
Having had some downtime and needing to find some items for a themed party later in the week, I found myself here. It’s a bit disconcerting to be here, it feels like a sterile environment. But that has nothing to do with the customer service I receive here.
I spent some time browsing the tables and shelves and wasn’t in a hurry. Eventually I circled back to the sunglasses display. I tried on a few pairs. After going back and forth between pairs, I finally made my decision.
